Celebrating Jewish Life Then…
At one time, Jewish life was centred around the synagogue. Jaslo, Poland, was one of thousands of towns in Europe with a large Jewish population in the years leading up to the Second World War. The building housed countless life cycle and social events, holiday celebrations, and was the centre for Jewish education in the community.
Built in the likeness of the Jaslo Synagogue, this unique project will be a place honouring our history and our heritage. A centre that provides both inspiration and education, the 27,000 sq.ft. facility will offer families and the community a wide range of programs and services that answer the many needs of Jewish community life today.
We are sharing values…and making a difference.
- Thousands of participants a year are touched by our work for the community.
- Over 500 individuals participate in the centre’s weekly activity schedule.
- As of 2011 the Centre is home to over 200 membership families.
- In its 8th year, the Temmy Latner Hebrew School teaches over 80 neighbourhood students and is growing.
We are giving back and giving more…
The Forest Hill Jewish Centre gives families and individuals the experience of being part of a vibrant Jewish community. We strive to give and make a difference in the lives of others. Our vision is to create a landmark that nourishes Jewish identity by inspiring the community through learning, living and the celebration of Jewish life. Each week the centre welcomes hundreds of individuals who come to take part in meaningful programs.
